MagnTek's MT6501 is a rotation angle sensor chip based on anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) technology. The chip consists of a pair of AMR Wheatstone bridges and a signal processing ASIC circuit. As the magnetic field parallel to the surface of the chip rotates, the chip will output a corresponding angle signal. Compared with the traditional Hall sensor, the AMR angle sensor works in the saturation zone, which reduces the requirement for the magnetic field and makes it easier for customers to install. In addition to single-channel SOP-8 package, MT6501 also provides dual-channel TSSOP-16 package, making it widely applicable to automotive throttle, EGR valve, accelerator pedal control and other application scenarios that require dual-channel redundant design.
