MT890X, the magnetic speed detection switch IC with dual output and built-in self-diagnostic function, is MagnTek’s latest 3rd generation speed with direction latch switch, which is the upgraded IC of the MT1452-EN series. The product is used in automotive motor systems, such as sunroof motor, anti-pinch window motor, etc.
As an automotive-grade functional IC, MT890X is designed and produced according to the AEC-Q100 specification. It has passed the AEC-Q100 verication project, and in order to improve the functional safety, the IC integrates a self-diagnosis function, which can check for internal faults during the power-up phase and feedback the signal to prevent unexpected situations when the vehicle is running.
In order to improve the problem of magnetic field strength attenuation (high temperature causes the arrangement of atomic magnetic moments inside the magnet to be affected by thermal motion, which disrupts the parallel arrangement of atomic magnetic moments), a temperature sensor is integrated inside the MT890X. its magnetic sensitivity at -40 ℃ ~ 150 ℃ shows a temperature characteristic change of -1000ppm / ℃, which ensures the consistency of the IC and magnet matching at full temperature, and greatly reduces the problem of magnetic induction failure caused by high temperature in applications.
According to customer's requirements of miniaturization of the structure, a smaller package, SOT-23-6L, has been realized, which meets the requirements of a series of smaller and more miniaturized automotive speed sensors. The IC can also expand the application of more speed with direction latch switches, no longer limited by the mechanical structure.
The two output forms of the MT890X series are named as follows: MT890X-SD (Speed + Direction), MT890X-SS (Speed + Speed), both of which have been mass-produced.
MT890X series products are available in SOT-23-6L and Flat To-94 packages, which are RoHS compliant.
