Front motor and speed sensor, mid motor, rear motor andspeed sensor (traditional)
Recommended model:
MT4601, MT4108-EN
Function:
3 bipolar Hall ICs (MT4601) are used to control the UVW signal of the motor. The motor is driven by the gears to assist the wheels.
A unipolar Hall IC (MT4108-EN) senses the magnets mounted on the housing cover of the motor, generally the same polarity magnets, and can still feed back the wheel speed when the motor isn't operating.
Mid motor (servo)
Recommended model:
Function:
The UVW signal directly controls the commutation, and the analog linear output or PWM output assists in determining the absolute position.
The mid motor generally has the characteristics of small size, high power, and large torque starting. The traditional 3 Hall brushless commutation solution is susceptible to interference, resulting in motor jitter and efficiency reduction, while the shaft-end magnetic encoder solution can greatly improve the commutation control accuracy of the brushless motor, avoiding jitter and improving operating efficiency.
Rear axle hook sensor、Torsion spring sensor
MagnTek has different torque sensor applications for different sizes of polar magnetic rings:
Single IC - high precision solution
Recommended model:
MT1450-EN (two hall element spacing: 1 mm), MT1451-EN (two hall element spacing: 1.6mm)
Dual ICs - general low cost solution (arbitrarily adjustable two hall element spacing)
Recommended model:
Function:
Dual channel quadrature switch Hall sensor determines speed and direction.
Torque sensor
Recommended model:
Function:
Dual channel quadrature switch Hall sensor determines speed and direction.
The torsion bar connects the steering column to the steering gear, and there is a magnetic rotor on the connecting member, which alternately divides a plurality of polar regions.
When rotated, the magnetic wheel also rotates (the sensor monitoring component is stationary) and the sensor produces an alternating signal, and output it.
Cadence sensor / Speed sensor
Recommended model:
Function:
A Hall IC measures the pedal frequency.
The magnetic ring is rotated/reversed, and the corresponding magnetic force line entering or leaving the surface of the IC, that is, the IC senses S or N. The following figure shows the S, N pole diagram and output different duty cycle curves of the IC induction (the two duty cycles are complementary, the sum is 100%)
The polarity of each magnetic block above the magnetic ring is in the same direction. Each magnet is a pair of pole strip magnets. The magnetic field lines of the strip magnet are shown in the figure.
Wheel speed sensor
Recommended model:
Function:
A magneto resistive IC measures the wheel speed.
Features:
1. Sampling frequency is 1 kHz, meets the speed requirement of pedelec.
2. Power consumption is as low as 1uA, meet the demand of battery power supply.
3. Magnetic induction point is 18GS with high sensitivity, induction distance can reach 25mm with strong magnetic field.
