Pedal Angle Detection(Acceleration Pedal)

MT6501

Features:

• The IC consists of a pair of AMR Wheatstone bridges, and ASIC circuits for signal processing. As the magnetic field parallel to the surface of the IC rotates, the IC outputs a corresponding angle signal.

Accelerator

n The accelerator is a device that controls the volume of energy supplied. When the vehicle is running, the driver controls the volume of intake air by controlling the volume of pedaling, thereby controlling the speed of the engine to achieve the effect of controlling the speed of the vehicle.

The accelerator consists of a pedal, 2 return springs, a sensor, and a connector. Through the positional movement of the pedal, the sensor senses the position of the pedal, outputs an analog quantity, and controls the speed of the vehicle according to the output value of the sensor.

n The MT6501 is used in the accelerator sensor. The magnetic ring is mounted on the shaft of the sensor (as shown in the left figure). The pedal motion drives the shaft to rotate. The IC senses the angle of rotation and outputs an analog quantity. The sensor outputs a linear variation (as shown in the right figure) to control the speed of the vehicle.

The AMR angle sensor reduces the requirement for magnetic field strength due to its operation in the saturation zone, which makes it easier for customer to install. In addition to the SOP-8 single package, the MT6501 is available in a TSSOP-16 dual package, which makes it widely required for dual redundant designs.
