On April 9-11, 2019, the 30th China International Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Heating, Ventilation and Food Refrigeration Processing Expo ("China Refrigeration Expo ") was held at Shanghai New International Expo Center. 

Shanghai MagnTek Microelectronics Inc. and the air-conditioning industry partner——Zhuhai Star Sincere Technology Inc., participated in the exhibition and brought a new generation of speed and position detection ICs with sincerity.

In this exhibition, MagnTek focused on the "MT8381 single-IC solution for air conditioner motor " and "smart home comprehensive detection solution" programs.

MT8381 Single-IC Solution for Air Conditioner PG Motor

This solution applies the MT8381 series, which is produced by BCD technology, and is controlled by automotive electronic processes with high performance and high reliability. The IC integrates a single-chip Hall-inductive component, a voltage regulator with an operating voltage range of 3.8V to 60V, a temperature compensation circuit, a small signal amplifier, a dynamic offset cancellation system, a Schmitt trigger and an open collector output driver. It also includes an output clamp diode and reverse power protection for ehhance the IC’s reliability.

Compared to the traditional solution, the MT8381 single-IC solution puts higher demands on Hall performance, and MagnTek has successfully achieved this improvement. The solution has streamlined the air conditioner PG motor solution from the original 8 components to 5, saving the discrete capacitances and eliminating the labor cost of installing these discrete devices; the PCB area is only 1/30 of the original solution, which effectively saves more material costs. 

Smart Home Comprehensive Detection Program

MagnTek's magnetic encoder ICs are used in Intelligent Manufacturing, Intelligent Transportation and Smart Home.
