The 7th China International Robot Show (CIROS 2018) was held in National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai）from July 4th to 7th. The exhibition is China's first national exhibition platform for the whole industry chain of robot. It is known as the first exhibition of China’s robot industry. It is also one of the four largest robot exhibitions in the world. Shanghai Magntek Microelectronics Inc., a supplier of magnetic encoder sensor solutions, was invited to participate in the exhibition.

Position detection defects in the robot industry still need to be improved

At present, in the domestic robot industry, industrial robots, service robots, AGVs, etc. are commonly used, and photoelectric encoders or rotary transformer products are generally used for position detection. These products have been used for many years and are technically mature, but due to technical limitations, there are still some inherent defects in different applications. Moreover, the photoelectric encoder also has problems of high requirements of operating environment and weak in anti-vibration and anti-impact; The rotary transformer has problems of high production cost, high installation size requirement, and high production labor intensity. Their performance-price ratio no longer has significant advantages.
