Water flow sensor for water heater
Working principle: When the water pushes the magnetic rotor through the turbine , the N and S poles of the product alternate magnetic fields, then the Hall IC senses the magnetic field, the high and low pulse levels are output. The high and low pulse frequency is proportional to the rotational speed of the rotor, and the rotational speed of the rotor is proportional to the water flow. Then the water heater igniter is activated according to the water flow.
The output structure of MT836X is an open-drain output, which can be applied to applications where the interface voltage of the chip's power supply terminal and the output terminal are inconsistent.
The MT838X output structure is a built-in 10k pull-up resistor structure, which is suitable for applications where the chip power supply terminal and output terminal interface voltages are the same, and can save the cost of a pull-up resistor and PCB space.
