MT6826 chip is a new generation of magnetic angle encoder IC for closed-loop stepping motor control introduced by MagnTek, which is based on anisotropic magnetoresistive (AMR) technology and proprietary signal processing technology to achieve absolute angle measurement of 0 °~360 °.

The chip consists of a pair of AMR Wheatstone bridges and signal processing ASIC circuits. With the rotation of the magnetic field parallel to the chip surface, the chip can output AB, UVW, PWM and other angle signals. The maximum speed of 120000 rpm is supported, the incremental AB resolution is 1~1024 wire programmable, and the UVW output is 1~16 pole pair programmable. MT6826 chip is mainly used for closed loop stepper motor applications that use 1000 line or 1024 line incremental signals for position feedback. It gives full play to the advantages of magnetic angle detection chip, such as earthquake resistance, being not afraid of oil and dust, to solve the pain points of users using traditional photoelectric coders in textile, clothing processing and other industries.

The MT6826 provides a client self calibration mode. In this mode, the system only needs to operate at a constant speed without any data interaction. The MT6826 chip will automatically calculate and calibrate all kinds of non-linearity caused by magnets, installation position deviations and the chip itself, and automatically store them in the built-in EEPROM of the chip. After uniform self calibration, the angle accuracy INL of the chip can be reduced to within one Lsb, i.e. ± 0.08 ° (typical value).
