The MT6816 chip is the latest third-generation magnetic angle encoder IC launched by MagnTek, which is a new upgraded chip of MT6815. Based on anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) technology and proprietary signal processing technology, it achieves absolute angle measurement from 0 ° to 360 °.
The chip consists of a pair of AMR Wheatstone bridges and a signal processing ASIC circuit. As the magnetic field parallel to the chip surface rotates, the chip can output angle signals such as ABZ/UVW, PWM, etc. Users can also read the 14 bit absolute angle data inside the chip through the SPI interface that supports up to 16MHz clocks. Based on high-performance analog front-end circuit design and advanced signal processing algorithms, MT6816 achieves a system delay of less than 2us, thus supporting speeds up to 25000 rpm. The MT6816 chip is suitable for various application scenarios with high-speed and high-precision control requirements, such as closed-loop stepper motors, servo motors, etc.
